Discuss The Gates of Avalon here.
Please do not discuss the episode until it has finished.

All I can say at the moment is... THE SLASH IS BACK! It's just a shame there was a girl involved I thought it was better than last weeks in fact, and some of Gaius/Merlin/Arthur's lines were hilarious. Merlin was just so squeeful and innocent in this episode, not to mention an idiot!

Just finished watching it...and all i can say is WOW , that has got to be the most amazing episode so far !!! And Morgana is a seer ;D that is going to make it so very interesting in future episodes, Felt so sorry for her when Arthur had asked to marry Sophia, did u see the look on Morgana's face ? I was sitting with my eyes glued to the screen the whole way through and i really needed to use the bathroom just as it got interesting lol me and my bad luck..

I loved the scene at the end, where Arthur's talking to Gaius and Merlin. Priceless.
I swear, Merlin and Arthur are the only couple where they can talk about a girl and still look like they're about to kiss.
Also, Morgana has something to do!

Aww, that episode made me LOL so much. Bless Merlin! ;D I'm agreeing with the slash comments... especially during the lake scene - I mean c'mon, they can't expect us not to at least suspect something? A few more observations... At the end, when Morgana was lying on her bed with her hair sprawled out everywhere... I thought she kind of looked a bit mad/evil... I mean, she doesn't appear that way especially at the moment but I think her powers could lead her down that route (and that's in the legend too, right?) Another totally unrelated observation: Anyone else think Sophia's father kind of resembled Alan Sugar?

Haha yeah he did look a bit like Alan Sugar, he scared me..#
Loved all the matey discussions Merlin and Arthur had, 'Friends forever', and Merlin putting up with being in the stocks several times (and seemed to enjoy it!) just for Pendragon.

Fantastic episode. This one made me laugh a lot more than any of the others, which is great, but was slightly less slashy than the highpoint in "Lancelot" However, it introduced some Arthur/Morgana shipping, which is good.

Anyone else think that Sophia looked about twelve? I'm sure the actress is older, but... whoa, she looks young.

Anyone else think that Sophia looked about twelve? I'm sure the actress is older, but... whoa, she looks young. I think the reason why they chose an actress with a young face was because it made her appear sweet and innocent, which helped lead Arthur and everyone else into believing her to be nothing but good - hiding her true, evil intentions. Well, that's my take on it anyhow.

That makes sense. But still, pedophilia is not good

I thought the same thing, she looked waaay too young. And I reckon Uther wouldn't do anything to Morgana even if she told him she was a seer. She should try it, and if he does decide to kill his best friend's daughter, then no worries; Merlin will save the day

Uther's a meanie, but he's not quite that bad And Merlin will always save the day- that's just how it works. But I think ep. 4 was cool because Arthur saved the day too!
