How cheesy is this episode title? Anyway, it is episode 8 of 13.
I just wanted to say... according to the legend, Mordred (the child in the trailers) is the child of Arthur and Morgan Le Fay??? Not to worry, it's no spoiler, in this episode it is clearly a different story.
Discuss The Beginning of the End here.
Please do not discuss the episode until it has finished.

Another fantastic episode, very very dark! The actor who played that boy was very good for his age.

Yes, that little actor is one of the reasons I made sure I wouldn't miss this episode even if we had to drop our dad off to have major surgery done! I saw him in Boy In The Striped Pyjamas and he was brilliant in that as the main character. All of my friends absolutely love him , especially his shocking blue eyes - they just win you over. I like the look of the rest of the episodes; it seem to be getting darker and more dangerous. I'm not liking Uther either

Without a doubt the best episode of the series so far by a mile. Acting superb from just about everyone - a serious story with no way it can end well but with lovely moments of humor in it. Lovely to see Morganna developing as a charcter at a nice steady speed. Good job all round.

Wow, what a fantastic episode! Sadly, I had a problem finding things to make fun of this time, because everything was just- awesome. I loved it

Just got round to watching the episode, and what can I say? Great, GREAT episode. Very dark but also very funny (the key scene had me and my sister in fits ;D).
Also liking the interaction between Merlin and Morgana - I always thought she would be the first one to find out Merlin's secret and it certainly seems to be heading that way... though now I can't help feeling that that would be a little obvious, but who knows?
Can't wait for next week's episode, and also for Mordred's next appearance (I'm predicting towards the very end of the series... maybe even in the next series, though I hope it's not that long...)

Yes, someone on LiveJournal said that ideally they would like Mordred to appear next series and challenge Arthur or something, and then maybe appear in a third series in the battle of Camlann; his final appearance Sounds cool to me .

Yes, someone on LiveJournal said that ideally they would like Mordred to appear next series and challenge Arthur or something That would be cool, but still. Even after a year, the kid's only gonna be like 10. Unless Druids age unnaturally fast or something. Not that it would be interesting to see big, broad Arthur drop-kick a little boy

Just watched it again with my mom today, and I have a theory -- what if Morgana and Mordred are brother and sister? I mean, they both have dark hair, pale skin, bluey-green eyes, and special magic powers. It could explain their bond (unless that was mind control). The only problem might be the difference of their accents, but Mordred could have been raised by the druids all of his life, which would explain it.
